Database and Photobase
The Village Sign Society Database and Photobase are the national archives of village signs in Great Britain and contain details of over five thousand village signs.
The Database lists all village signs, both historic and present, together with details such as location, manufacture and explanation of design and is available after one year of membership. Its entries are cross-referenced with the Photobase and are regularly updated with details of new village signs. The Photobase is an archive in digital photographic form all village signs, past or present. It is constantly updated with images of new village signs.
These archives have been possible thanks to numerous contributions from members. Without their help, these would not be a success since it is virtually impossible for one person to visit all signs plus return visits to check for renewals and additions.
