Village signs are emblems that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages (or towns) they represent. Each one is unique and is often produced as a result of community efforts. Many were made to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee and the Millennium. Most village signs are on posts in central positions in the village, such as near the church or pub, or on the village green. Interest in these signs continues unabated as can be witnessed by the Village Sign Society receiving many enquiries from communities wanting to mark the Diamond Jubilee with a new village sign.
